Hello,
I am Alexia Audrain, cabinetmaker and furniture designer from Nantes in France. I have created OTO the hugging chair and the company LABAA.
After two years of apprenticeship in upholstery, I have done 6 years of apprenticeship in cabinet making. Then I have integrated “Nantes Atlantique school of design” for a “BTMS”.
My work is focus on the function of furniture and usability. Building a furniture to answer an issue or a need is a starting point for me. The form follows function. My goal is to have human being, user at the earth of the project. In my opinion, social sciences and furniture design have a strong relation.
